Postpositions
In the Udmurt language, postpositions serve the same purpose as prepositions in the English and Russian languages, but in contrast to those languages, postpositions do not come before the noun or pronoun, but after. A noun or pronoun followed by a postpostion is usually in the nominative case: урам кузÿ along the street, капка азьын in front of the gates, but there are a few exceptions: тонэн йырин (сэрен) because of you. As the dictionary entries indicate, postpositions usually have case endings.
